Banks' profits began to fall

With each half of all corporate lending brings less profit. It is reported by "Kommersant" with reference to the statistics of the Central Bank. While banks can not compensate for lost income from operations, but experts warn the banks would be difficult to return to previous levels. Thus, according to data released by Bank of Russia, during the first half of 2010, banks received almost 10% less interest income on loans to legal entities than in the previous six months. At the same trend of decreasing revenues began last year. Then the difference between the second and the first half amounted to 6%. The main reason was to reduce rates on loans to corporate borrowers (15% per annum in the first half of 2009 to 9.10% per annum at the moment). At the moment, banks are able to compensate for the decrease in interest income on loans to companies. Thus, a steady income gives loans to individuals, as well as commission income (although their share is relatively small). The experts did not give encouraging predictions. Back in the spring of this year on banking forum in St. Petersburg, they warned bankers about the gradual decrease in their incomes. Now yield loan portfolio stands at 10-11%, expenditures - 9.7%, thus earning the banks of 2-3%. For Russian banks is unusually low, but from the standpoint of the global market - normal, -
