Growth rate of deposits will be in the range of 14 to 18%

According to the DIA in 2009 (assuming a relatively stable ruble to a basket of currencies before the end of the year) growth rate of deposits will most likely be in the range of 14 to 18%, which corresponds to an absolute increase of 060 820-1 bn. Thus, it is assumed that the volume of deposits for the year will be 6 700-6 950 billion rubles. It is expected that the savings activity of the population will be under the influence of countervailing factors. On the one hand, the decline in consumer credit, higher interest rates on deposits and the stagnation of the stock market will increase the volume of bank deposits. On the other hand, the decrease in the rate of income growth, as well as fears of inflation and the devaluation of the ruble will prevent saving activity of the population.
