New customs duties on imports into the country trucks and cars of foreign production to take effect at midnight. New customs duties on imported foreign cars in Russia rose by 20-80% depending on the "age" and the type of vehicle. In particular, foreign cars under 5 years of fee increases by 25-30%. Previously, the rate ranged from 0.85 to 1 euro per 1 cubic centimeter of engine capacity, depending on engine displacement, the new rate - from 1,5 to 3,6 Euro. Particularly strongly increased import duties on cars older than 5 years. Earlier on foreign cars, since the release of which has been more than 7 years, acted rate from 1,4 to 3,2 Euro per 1 cubic centimeter of engine capacity meters. On January 12, higher duties will be imposed on cars older than 5 years, the rate for them will be from 2,5 to 5,8 Euro per 1 cubic centimeter engine. Increase in import duties - one measure of protection is strongly affected by the global crisis of domestic car industry, including on the territory of the Russian assembly plants of foreign automakers. Dec. 19 at a meeting with the "captains" of the Russian auto industry, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin named a specific amount of state support for the automotive industry - 6,7 billion dollars. The main part of the $ 3.26 billion - a support vehicle sales and leasing of the state order. In 2009, the lease will be allocated 1.55 billion. Also, the state will purchase a bond market the Russian automobile plants. Bought these loans, the government will help them to finance investment projects that are currently running and stopping of which is impossible. A year later, these goals will provide up to 2.17 billion dollars. One important task - to restore consumer activism. To this end, proposed to subsidize interest rates on loans of citizens to purchase cars. We are talking about machines that were released in Russia and related to automobiles, "mass market" - worth up to 350,000 rubles. If the year 2009 will be made buying a domestic car, the subsidy will be 2 / 3 of the refinancing. Putin also offered zero tariffs for railway transportation of domestic cars produced in any part of Russia, the Far East. Railways lost income will be compensated from the state budget.
