From 17 to 19 November 2010 in Moscow, the Hotel Holiday Inn Sokolniki (address: ul. Rusakovskaya 24) will host the IX National Conference "Microfinance in Russia on the brink of change: lessons from the crisis and new opportunities." Conference participants will discuss the impact of the crisis on the market for microfinance in Russia and abroad, the issues of innovations aimed at improving the affordability of post-crisis situations, and consider the possibilities associated with the adoption of laws regulating the activities of microfinance institutions and the prospects for further development of legislation for affordability, including institutions of banking agents and electronic money. Particular attention will be given practical experience of bank lending to small business and microfinance institutions to overcome the crisis. At the conference, participants will analyze the first results of public support for microfinance, and measures to increase employment through the engagement of unemployed in entrepreneurship. The Conference will consist of plenary sessions, panel discussions and training sessions and debates.
