Moscow approved new rates for travel

On Friday, the regional energy commission approved the capital of fares on public transport in 2009, news agencies reported. Since January 1, the cost per trip on all kinds of public transport increased by three rubles. Travel in the metro has grown from 19 to 22 rubles, by bus, trolleybus and tram - from 17 to 20 rubles. The cost of smart cards for 30, 90 and 365 days (unlimited trips) will rise by 27, 26 and 23 percent respectively, the agency said. A single monthly pass (up to 70 trips in the metro) has grown from 1300 to 1700 rubles, while the cost of monthly travel to ground transportation (without limit) is maintained at 2008 - 755 rubles. In the land transport cost of one or two trips increased by 17.6 percent, but the ticket prices for 5, 10, 20 and 60 trips remain at 83, 165, 325 and 650 rubles respectively. Will not change and a reduced rate for students - as in 2008, it will be 207 rubles (without limitation on the number of trips). A ticket purchased from the driver will still cost 25 rubles. Inflation in Russia in 2008 is expected to be 13,5-14 percent.
