Russian inflation distinguished stability

Inflation in Russia from 17 to 23 May this year amounted to 0,1% since the beginning of the year - 4,6%. Such data on Wednesday, May 25, publishes the Federal State Statistics Service. Since early May inflation rate was 0,4%. In 2010, inflation at the same date in May was 0.3%, from the beginning of the year - 3,8%. In general, in May 2010 it was fixed at 0.5%. Weekly inflation is rising at 0.1% last eleven weeks, except for one week from April 26 to May 3, when it accelerated to 0.2% due to a jump in gasoline prices. From May 17 to 23 petrol went up by 0.7% after rising 0.8% from 11 to 16 May, at 1.3% - from 4 to 10 May and by 2,8% - from April 26 through May 3. As reported in April 2011, inflation continued to slow - up to 0,4% from 0,6% in March from 0.8% in February and 2,4% in January (in April 2010, inflation amounted to 0,3% in March, 0.6% in February - 0.9% in January - 1,6%). Because of low inflation in April 2010, annualized inflation rate in April 2011 increased to 9,6% from 9,5% in March. Ministry of Economic Development expects inflation in May at 0.5%, and by the end of 2011 at the level of 7-7,5%. Central Bank remains committed to keep inflation under 7%.
